A Pilot's Pursuit of Speed: Vesa's Canyon Speedmax Gets the Wheel Angel Treatment

At 30,000 feet, drag isn't an inconvenience — it's the enemy. So when a private jet pilot walks into the studio chasing more speed on the ground, we knew exactly what he meant.

We recently hosted Vesa (@funkypilot_vesa) — Finnish private jet pilot, triathlete, and author of Funky Pilot. He signed us a copy of his book on the spot, now proudly on the shelf at our studio. Then we got to work on his bike.

Built for Someone Who Understands Airflow Vesa thinks in drag coefficients for a living, so we gave him the hardware to match: his Canyon Speedmax fitted with our hand-built front Tri-Spoke and rear Full Disc carbon wheels. The Tri-Spoke cuts cleanly through crosswinds up front, while the Full Disc seals off turbulence behind him, locking the bike in at high speed.
