Why We Don’t Use Influencers to Review Our Wheels

In the era of social media, it’s common to see "famous" YouTubers and influencers unboxing gear and offering glowing endorsements. You might notice that our wheels are missing from those feeds. That isn’t an accident—it’s a choice.

We’ve made a conscious decision not to engage in paid "reviews" or send free gear to influencers. Here is why:

1. Expertise Can’t Be Replicated

A wheelset isn’t just a product; it’s a piece of engineering. To truly review a wheel, you need to understand the tension of the spokes, the geometry of the hub, and the nuances of the build process. Most influencers are entertainers or content creators, not wheel builders.

If you don’t understand the "how" behind the assembly, you cannot accurately judge the "why" behind the performance. We believe the only people qualified to judge our work are the people who ride them every day and the craftsmen who know what makes a wheel stay true under pressure.

2. We Value Honesty Over "Agendas"

Let’s be honest: when someone receives a $2,000 wheelset for free or is paid to feature a product, there is an unspoken agenda. It is very difficult to be critical of something that was given to you as a gift.

We don't want "polite" reviews; we want honest ones. We don't pay for praise because we believe that trust shouldn't have a price tag.

The wheelset are very well build, stable at high speed and react immediately when pushing forwards. Had chosen the Wheel Angel SLX49 Matt, all rounder wheelset for both flat and climbing. Best of all, any issues with the wheelsets can just bring back to Wheel Angel, Andy is friendly and helpful.

The value and expertise you get from Andy's wheels is worth the cost. The wheels are perfectly suited my weight and use case. It's stiff and fast while being stable in cross winds. The expert choice of hubs, spokes, rim depth, are what you're paying for. You're paying for tangible gain rather than the marginal marketing gains from big brands.

I just gotten my 2nd pair of wheelset from wheel angel. I have been using my 1st wheelset for 8yrs. Zero problems zero issues. Still smooth and still no wobble, no vibration on the frame. Bombproof build. Andy is an expert in building wheels. He will build you a wheel that is designed for your weight and type of riding. Highly recommended!
